Headlice

My 5-year old son had headlice the other day. They turn out to be easy to breed, but I do not recommend them. Some insects are not for keeping.

I used a metal nitcomb to get all eggs and lice out of his hair. I’ll be combing for the next 14 days to see if I missed any. Then we will be lice-free without the use of chemicals, of course until they meet again at school.

The upside it that I learned a lot about headlice and their life cycle. I made an image about it, the lice are true to scale on this one. The nit and the newborn lice are 1 mm in length, the adults are 3 mm in length.
